Entrepreneur's
Persistence Paying Off by Sara Isadora Mancuso (

Southlake has proven itself as fertile ground for young entrepreneurs.
Protocol One Information Technologies is the new computer
company in town, with masterminds Joel Fuessel and Matthew
Lippe to credit.
Although
Protocol One soon will reign in only its one year anniversary,
its list of clientele covers the Metroplex. The eight-member
staff primarily provides services focused on web design and
computer repairs, upgrades.
Joel,
a Trophy Club resident and Grapevine High School graduate,
began playing with his father's computer when he was only
10 year old. "I'd be watching a TV show about a doctor
or lawyer and I'd joke to my mom and dad, 'I'm going to make
a lot of money, I'll own my own business," Joel said.
"It's a dream that, thankfully, came true."
Protocol
One does most of its business in Tarrant County, but employees
said their Dallas market is growing.
Persistence
and depth of knowledge, sets Protocol One apart from other
area business offering similar services said Michel Brady,
a Miller of Dallas employee. "We knew they were types
that would know the new technology."
A
Protocol One computer technician is on-call for 24 hour technical
support. Employees are working on a company website that will
allow clients to sign up for a technician to work on their
computer via the Internet.
While
the major forces behind Protocol One all are younger than
25, Lippe said the effect of positive referrals greatly outweighs
any preoccupations people might have with age.
"Once
we got through the front door, people saw the work and service
we were providing," Lippe said.
Most
employee share a similar background, as children playing with
video games, then moving on to learning the complexities of
the Internet, computer construction, maintenance.
"If
it's an obsession or passion, you just learn it, you just
can't go enough, when you're a computer geek," Joel said.
"You just become big sponge."
