FAQ - For
Outlook Express and Microsof Outlook 2000
This
article describes how to add a new Internet email account
in Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook 2000, since they
are setup the almost the exact same way we have put them together.Use
the following steps to add and configure an new Internet email
account to Outlook Express and or Microsoft Outlook 2000.
Before
getting started you'll need to provide:
your
user name
your email address
the incoming and outgoing mail server name
the incoming server type (IMAP or POP3)
Begin In Outlook Express and/or Microsoft Outlook 2000:
1.
Click on Tools in the Menu Bar. Then go down and Click on
Accounts
2.Click
Add, and then click Mail.
3.
In the Display Name box, type the name you want others to
see when you send a message, and then click Next.
4.
Put a dot in the box that says," I have already have
an email address that I would like to use." In the E-mail
Address box, type the e-mail address for the account you are
using (for example, "johndoe@yourdomainname.com"),
and then click Next. Note: I have already have an email address
that I would like to use, does not apply to Microsoft Outlook
2000.

Under E-mail Server Names, select the appropriate incoming
mail server type (POP3 is the default type), and then type
the names of your incoming and outgoing mail servers.
Example:
incoming:
yourdomainname.com
outgoing:
yourdomainname.com
6.
Click Next. Enter your Account Name and Password. Make sure
to check remember password. NOTE: This information is provided
by Protocol One. If you do not know this information, contact
Protocol One toll free 1-877-336-7062 or email support@protocolone.com.
Click
the connection type that you use to connect to the Internet,
and then click Next. NOTE: This step does not apply to Outlook
Express 5. If you click "Use my phone line to connect,"
you are prompted to either create a new Dial-Up Networking
connection or use an existing one. If Dial-Up Networking has
been configured for your ISP, click "Use an existing
dial-up connection," click the name for your Dial-Up
Networking connection in the list, and then click Next. If
you click "Connect using my local area network (LAN)"
or "I will establish my Internet connection manually,"
you are not prompted for any additional settings. Click Finish.
You have now successfully setup your email account.
